Having Solar is a great way to eliminate CO2 and your energy bill. We had to expand 3 years in a row to get to NET-ZERO - meaning we have no electricity bill. We use more energy than most homes: having electric vehicles, using the AC like crazy, and kids on TV's & computers.
Solar makes economic sense, because you get a 30% tax credit and your energy provider pays for the majority of the cost (Oncor in our case.) They paid for a 10 kilowatt system (3 years in a row,) giving us a 30 kw total system. We have 102 Solar panels on our roof and 32 in our yard. This has made us NET-ZERO now and we LOVE it!
